What caused the crying?
I missed the part after Joe (Jack Lemmon) comes home from a party and brings the "tulips" for Kirsten (Lee Remick). Next thing I saw was he was crying and apologizing. What happened?
shareJoe got all loud because he wanted some comfort from Debbie and because she was breastfeeding, she wouldn't drink and get all horny for him. He began slamming doors and stuff......
He then told her that breastfeeding would ruin her figure and such.....she then began crying.
He then apologized and was crying too....( drunk crying jag)

shareHe started screaming and so on, and Kirs told him to hush because he might wake Debbie up... so he said that he's going to close her bedroom's door and Kirs tried to stop him because there wasn't enough air in the room. But Joe slammed the door and woke up Debbie... So THAT and the prior stuff made Joe self-conscious and he started crying and apologizing.
