Missed the very ending...

My recording ends with Jack Lemmon going to see Debbie n the bedroom after Lee Remick has walked out and down the street. He tells her that mummy's sick and that he got well and that maybe she will. Is there much more?

Just seen this post - thanks so much!

Thanks! I just watched it and my DVR cut off just before Lee Remick leaves. Judging from the number of comments, it seems that TCM needs to give this movie 125 minutes instead of 120, especially if they have an intro!

That´s right. Don´t ruin the thing though.

my dvr cut off way before that. I didn't even get to see him going into the daughter's room.

I had the same problem with my DVR cutting off the movie at the very last minute. Thanks for the post!

This happened with my recording of last night's BBC2 airing of the film.

Strange..

Anyway, thanks for this thread. Good to know I didn't miss much.

haha!
I just watched a TCM recording from back in November, and mine cut off past the ending, when Robert Osborne was in the middle of doing his commentary. He was seated with someone speaking about Johnny Mercer, cuz they showed this movie in conjunction with several other Johnny Mercer song movies. Though I got to see it all, I was still upset that I didn't get to see all of what the two had to say in closing.

And I completely understand the DVR problems!

I just saw the November recording and my DVR cut off while Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick are still talking in the room. She has made it clear that she won't stop drinking completely, and he has said they can't be together if she's drinking.

I see the earlier posts about the very ending, but can anybody tell me if anything else significant happened during their discussion. For example, did she just walk out or did he kick her out?

Lee Remick just walked out, and Joe watched her walk away, cross the street, and disappear. His daughter asked if that was mom, and he told her yes, but he told her that she was better, when she really wasn't. He didn't want to hurt the girl's feelings.
