Best way to get this on dvd? ( Widescreen)

This is one of my favorite Mcqueen films, and i was hoping to record it off TCM but i messed up and sadly did not record it. I'm hoping they re air it and i can record it and then transfer it to dvd, but if they don't whats the best way to get a good copy of it? I downloaded the film in like 10 parts off youtube and put them together but its not exactly the best quality. Is the VHS in proper aspect ratio? Whats the best way for me to get this is good quality? I just need it widescreen on a dvr, nothing too fancy. Thanks in advance for any help.

TCM is the best way. Or a private collector who recorded it off of TCM. I recently recorded it off TCM. With the decline in the big studios releasing great gems like this on DVD, I find it is easier to just record a movie and transfer it to DVR. I find myself doing this with many films now available on DVD - some that I don't really care for. I get many from TCM and FMC (because they play in their original aspect ratio with very limited exceptions).

You can also try a website that will sell you a DVD-R via google shopping, ebay, and ioffer. Make sure you ask questions about the source. Good luck.

"Love With the Proper Stranger" is included in a 2008 Region 2 boxed DVD set entitled "The Hollywood Collection - Steve McQueen, Man on the Edge." If you can play Region 2 discs, this might be a solution. New and used copies can be gotten pretty reasonably from Amazon.UK.
