7 Deadly Sins Theory
I had never heard of the theory that the show was based on the 7 Deadly Sins:
Greed: Mr. Howell
Sloth: Mrs. Howell
Pride: The Professor
Lust: Ginger
Envy: Mary Ann
That leaves Gluttony and Wrath for Gilligan and The Skipper. While it's hard to peg either of those to Gilligan, both seem to fit The Skipper. But why would he get two sins, when everyone else got one. Because he spent the most time around Gilligan, who was the Devil.
