What's with all the Air Bubbles being discharged???


The Sub could be tracked anywhere.
Depth charge dropped in Sub's path...BOOM!

This was the 60's, audiences were not as sophisticated as today. The bubbles were shown to reinforce that they were under water. In the 50's movie Titanic, they showed the Titanic being struck by the iceberg on its left side because audiences expected the ship to move from the right side of the screen to the left as the ship would move from the perspective of a map or globe (East to west).

I like your Alfred E. Newman picture.

I read many Mad Magazine parodies including the 'Voyage to See What's on the Bottom" parody back in the 60s and 70s. Still have many of the mags in boxes somewhere. Not many movies/series escaped the wrath of William Gaines and his writers who ran Mad until his death.

Teachers weren't happy when they saw copies in my notebook during the day.

Yeah, that was a great mag for me growing up in the 70's... I always loved the little fold 'em picture on the back.
