Seaview surfacing...

Watching the reruns I have to giggle whenever they show the Seaview surfacing... at about a 45 degree angle then the bow crashing back down to the water! My, he crew must have suffered many injuries. geesh! Physics, anyone?

Same goes for episodes showing people standing in the flying sub as it launches out of the water or during those overdone banks.

Despite a few good episodes, this show was total crap. BAD writing - too many rubber-suit monster stories. Watching this back in the 60' ,I didn't appreciate Richard Basehart, but he actually wasn't bad in this. I also thought David Hedison did fine with what he was given.

LOVE the Seaview. One of the best vehicles from any TV show.

I agree....the show started off with good intentions, but after a couple of years the show fell into a monster-of-the-week rut (thankfully not as bad as "Lost In Space").

The acting talent of the show was much better than the scripts they were given, but since the show had a 7pm timeslot, the kids were the main target-audience, and that in affect is why the show degenerated to outrageousness by the final year.

Submarines breech all the time. Especially when they are in an area where there is ice and the submarine needs to surface. So the Seaview breeching is normal.
