There isn't gonna be a movie

They've reportedly talked about it but seems like it won't happen. I know many people complain when a re-imagining has a character's race or gender changed, but since the crew in the original TV show were all men, if they did make a Voyage movie, they oughta have some females in the crew, whether or not they're named after characters from the show. Reportedly Irwin Allen thought women took too long in the makeup room.

That's right. I searched it again and read a recent article that they're still trying to remake Voyage as a movie. Eight years ago they had one idea that not surprisingly fell through. I found an article weekend before last saying they're working on a different story, or they've added to it, but they're still looking for backers, as reportedly other studios are thinking of remaking 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. At any rate, I'll have to see it to believe it.

So, you hope they do a movie with current technology, but also keep it the same as the series. Bit of a contradiction there I think.

You also want any women in the movie to be super skinny.

Well, I would rather there not be a movie made at all. I am sick of all the re-makes. If there is going to be one, then I would hope it would feature healthy looking women. Not emaciated ones. I do realise that Ryan was curvier minus the incredibly tight corset she had to wear on Voyager, but presumably she had to wear one because of people like thinking that only skinny women should be considered sexy. I don't blame her for hating her costume.
