What ever happened to Robert Dowdell?

Does anyone know if Robert (Chip Morton) Dowdell is alive and what he has been doing for the last couple of decades? I know he did a few guest spots on tv but other than that...?

reply

I heard he went into the real estate business in California. Don't know if he's still alive, though.

He is still alive. He is in his early 60s. His last acting role was in 1991.

HE is still alive, out of the industry, and he is 73 years old

Long time ago a female British called him "The most beautiful man on Earth"...

I would like to see a recent photo of him and know what his is up to. Is he retired or still int the acting area

reply

A current picture of Robert is on the website www.daffronanddelaney.com. Robert is retired from the industry, has been since the 90's but is alive and well, and he will be 75 in March.

Robert Dowdell appeared as a Marine fighter pilot, Major Tony Puller, in the pilot episode "Operation Cobra" on "O'Hara, U.S. Treasury", starring David Janssen.

Bob Dowdell left the industry in part due to some unwanted advances from female fans (he has been hounded for many years by one or more 'nutty' fans).

One of his last TV appearances was as the NYC District Attorney in Irwin Allen's TV movie, "Outrage". It also featured Patrick Culliton as a courtroom Bayliff. Culliton had been a re-occurring sailor aboard Seaview (mostly year four).
