We need this series on DVD...

It is due time that 20th Century Fox release Voyage onto DVD, one season at a time.
Just look at eBay any week -- there is lots of interest in this show!

I agree... 'Voyage' is one of the TV series that NEEDs to be put on DVD... & the sooner... the better... & how 'bout another of my favorite Irwin Allen TV series, 'Time Tunnel' ???

There is website that keeps track of new shows and movies coming out on DVD and it allows you to nominate and vote on shows you'd like to see. It's done with the hope that someone sometime will take notice of interest and decide to release a DVD.
I'm sorry I can't find the URL in my list of favorites but you could probably find it with a search engine. I voted for this show, of course!

reply

Register and vote for this, and any other show you'd like to get on DVD, on www.tvshowsondvd.com. I voted. As hokey as VOYAGE got, especially in the later years---3rd season on---it was still a favorite of mine. I'd buy the whole series on DVD. In fact, I have the whole series I taped on the SCI-FI channel a few years ago. If it don't come out soon, I'm burning my own copies with my DVD burner.

I agree, it is way past the time. What do we need to do to get it done.

reply

Unfortunately, the entire series needs to be re-mastered in order to be put out on DVD, because of the poor quality of the prints. Fox is not willing to put any money into that at this time, so there will be no DVDs until they are willing to do this

reply

How about VHS do you know if they ever put the episodes on video.

reply

Columbia House had them for awhile, 2 episodes on a tape. The print quality was better than anything seen on Sci-Fi or local channels.

ive heard that people who bought the third season LOST IN SPACE DVD set in the UK (where it comes on one box like our Season ONE) included an insert that list VTTBOTS as "coming in 2005"

reply

A false rumour...I own the 3rd season, UK editon, of this show. True, there is a 20 page booklet included, with adds regarding recent FOX titles and boxes, but nothing on VTTBOTS... :-(
The only show being metioned that has not yet been released in the UK, is the set combining seasons 1+2 of TRU CALLING, which is released seperately in the USA.
FOX is chasing many people to guys that have taped the VTTBOTS show from network/TV and are selling it on Ebay...don't they realize that this is one of the most sought after 70's cult sci-fi shows? They are re-releasing the VTTBOTS pilot movie in the UK on Aug, 1...for those who do not own it yet.

I totally agree, in fact it is way past time that Voyage be released DVD in fact I would even be satisfied with VHS, anything to be able to watch over and over again.

My name is Max and I am 12 years old . I love this show because my dad loves it too .I want to have it on DVD so we could watch it every night . My dad would pay anything for it . We want an official release by Fox, not home made copies . Thank you .

In a perfect world Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea would be remastered and released on DVD in wide screen with vivid color and glorious sound so as to give more scope to the control and missile room scenes and no I don't mean letter boxed. This would be the ultimate Voyage. Anyone that would like to see it released on DVD has got to agree. This was a popular show of the 60's folks and is much better than some of the fare available on TV today. This should have been released before Lost In Space in my opinion and is way way way overdue!!!

reply

Lets all keep up the pressure folks ..... the studios do seem be releasing more and more classic TV series .... but somehow I fear Fox is least listening of all the studios.... I grew up with this series ... and for all the cheap pool shots of fake monsters it was certainly as good as much of the other cult scifi stuff. Steve

I agree with all that has been posted here...I have a couple of episodes on DVD from when the show was last seen in the UK back in the 80's...Voyage was part of my childhood,as was all of my friends and we spent many happy hours playing voyage in the park, especially as we had 2 side by side swings which became the flying sub.I want my children and my nieces and nephews to see this show too in the hope it will fire their playtime imaginations as it did mine.
Oh,I have also been lucky enough to meet David Hedison recently,a true gent.

Wow, this thread is pretty old and shows how far it has come from a pipe dream to having the entire series on DVD (even if in half season sets that got stalled for periods of time due to eratic sales).
