I used to watch some of "Voyage..." when I was little, and was thinking about picking up some of the DVDs. Since I am operating on a budget, I was thinking about selecting one season, and was wondering which seasons fans think is the best.

I have a brief suggestion. The other day I was shopping at Target and noticed that Parts 1 and 2 of the First Season are now being shrink wrapped together in a single set and being sold for about $20. This is a great value, since originally each sold for around $30. So I bought the first season. The second part has an interesting, but way too short interview with David Hedison.

It took 40 years to finally get Voyage available to see in its entirety, don't let the opportunity to have it all pass you by!
The first half of season 4 is slated for release in March and if Fox follows its standard release schedule, the last half should come out around October.
Once you see an episode in all its crystal clear glory you will want them all anyway.
I'd go with Season 1 as the best. ...As the show "progressed", it seemed to always involve a crew member or guest goin' nuts. I guess I didn't like that.
shareI think the second season and third seasons were the best.
However, many don't agree that the third season was so good.
The third season requires a deep respect for music composers.
The music is so perfectly matched to what is happening on the screen.
The music was often lifted from cinema composer: Bernard Herrmann.
But the third season was often just simply INSANELY good fun!
