Did you love Hazel Court?

She has fine lips and good boobs, what do you say?

reply

I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers!

reply

She's extremely beautiful! It strained credulity that Prince Prospero would be seeking to replace her with drippy little Francesca.

reply

Yes, she was a beauty. Francesca was pretty but looked oh, so very young. I think Hazel and Jane should have changed roles.

I well remember seeing Masque of the Red Death as an eight year-old with my friend Jimmy. One of our favorite parts was her dream sequence in that gauzy gown, when she came running into the shot. Heavens! Our jaws dropped.

reply

I don't remember where I read this but she claimed she had no idea her boobs were bouncing around and that they were visable through her see through gown. Great scene! Yea, my jaws dropped also!

reply

She was frighteningly beautiful, I think I would have been scared to meet her!

reply

Interesting how much support she has here. I guess she's very refined and all that, and fairly attractive in this. I coincidentally watched her in one of the Hammer Frankensteins just before this one (my private Halloween horror marathon) and liked her better in that one. But to be perfectly honest, you guys can all have her, if I get Jane Asher. Younger looking, skinnier, more interesting face and a lovelier set of accoutrements IMHO.

Sorry you two, I vote for Hazel Court. Hazel's a step above in the horn-o-meter!

Yeah, Hazel was a serious babe, far more lovely than Jane Asher. (Not to take anything away from Jane, but she wasn't as striking as Hazel was. Nor was Barbara Shelley, for that matter, who Hammer tried and tried to make into a "scream queen" for years.)

One look at Fay Wray, or Hazel, or Barbara Steele, and you're hooked for life, you'll never forget them. Now THOSE are scream queens!

And I'd put Martine Beswick right up there, too. Martine was a MONSTER! lol

Hazel was not just a gorgeous woman but also had a head on her shoulders too. She told a story once how she and Vincent Price often engaged in teasing and friendly war of words between filming(s) but she knew he truly respected her when she took him home one day and showed him her impressive art collection. They remained very good friends after that.

Hazel Court was simply stunning, gorgeous, smoking hot. Everytime I see her on screen, I can't help wondering why wasn't she more famous apart from the horror genre. IMHO, she was easily as gorgeous and sexy as -for instance- Ava Gardner, and certainly deserved to be a big star. There was something irresistible and very sassy about Ms. Court, and I just can't take my eyes off her when she's on screen. She seemed to have been quite an interesting lady off screen, as well.

Yes, I do love Hazel Court.

And no disrespect to Jane Asher, but that was the one complaint I have with the film. Juliana basically was fed to the birds while Francesca was doted on and catered to every step of the way. I understand fascination with testing her faith and innocence, but one does not ignore Hazel Court.

Hazel made a career out of playing beautiful bad girls but I do recall her with Peter Cushing in The Curse of Frankenstein playing his sweet fiancé -- and she was just as beautiful when playing an innocent.
