Why the long wait for the US release?
Filming wrapped on this movie by December 1963, and it had it's debut in June '64 in Berlin, a perfectly normal amount of time between production wrap and release. But it didn't get its US debut intil April 1965; that's a rather long lag period especially for a Sidney Lumet film.
