Who posed for the movie poster ?

If Steve McQueen was 36 years old when they made this movie I wonder who's body they used for the movie poster ? It must have been some guy in his early 20's........

Yep, exactly as yinzguyz said. This movie was released in 1966 and back then, the studios had their art departments doing the posters. They were virtually always an artists' rendering ("paintings"), not photographs that have been retouched and Photoshop'ed to death with body doubles like they've done the last several years.

In addition to having been an active duty U.S. Marine, McQueen was a superb athlete. Could easily have been his body.

No, he was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1950.
