An excellent western

An excellent western that should not be seen on TV. They stretch a 2hr and 8 minute movie into 3hrs.

I am watching this now on TCM. That's my favorite channel for uncut movies.
Now back to the movie...

Good movie but I always wondered why Max didn't meet back up with Jonas Chord at the end. It just felt weird. I saw on IMDB that there was a movie called 'Nevada Smith' that is apparently a sequel to the 1966 movie.

The description said that in it Max and Jonas are transporting explosives to Utah. Too bad the characters aren't played by the same people. I wouldn't mind too much if they found a different actor for Max's character but they should have brought Brian Keith (Jonas) back for the sequel. Him not being there kind of makes me want to see it less. Kind of liked him alot in the first movie.

Movie was okay but not excellent- that is for much better films than it. I agree I was surprised Chord didn't pop up near the end after we see him shout out Max's name in a scene shortly before that. Makes you wonder if something was edited out. Keith was excellent I was impressed by him in that role.

I absolutely agree with you. I gave it a user rating ' 8 '. One thing I especially like about it is that there are 23 actors in it with whom I am familiar. Yes, it is an excellent western. Would you mind telling me some of the other westerns that you admire. I am also curious as to what age group you are in.
