I was going by the written script, from when I was a local production playing Velasco, when I said Biscuits, I watched the movie again last night, and it sounded like he said Onion Batter
I don't know the validity of this; but, in response to the question about knichi, one person responded:
I think you got the term "knichi" from Neil Simon's classic play (and movie) "Barefoot In The Park". In the play, one of the characters, Victor Velasco, brings a pan full of what he calls knichi to dinner. He explains that it is made from eel, onion biscuits, salt, and other spices. In reality, there is no such dish. Neil Simon created it just for the play, and it is totally fictitious in nature.
