because I first saw this movie when I was pregnant with her, and loved the name.
She's 13 now, and darned if she's not just like the Corey in the movie! Fun and goofy and stubborn and full of life! A very strong personality, to say the least.

from the first time I saw it on WABC afternoon movie in N.Y. in the late 60's.The Corie Bratter charater reminded me of myself when I was younger and that's why I choose the name. I added the extra "R" becuse we have a double letter in our last name.
Cool....closest thing I've done related to the movie is my IMDB name. I watched the movie when I was sick a few years ago early in the morning on a weekend..felt really good watching it.. It oozes 'sweetiness'
