An Asian-white version of this film

I'd love to see an Asian-white version of this film. A white girl brings home Jeremy Lin. "Mom, dad, he's concerned you might not accept him because he's a Chinaman."

It's all irrelevant now because the world and attitudes have changed so much in over 40 years. There wouldn't be any point in remaking this movie today, no matter what ethnicity was used. Anyway, ever seen 'Love Is A Many Splendid Thing' (1955) or even 'A Majority Of One' (1961). Really, interracial marriages are no big deal today!

Several movies about intercultural marriage have been made in the last few years alone (i.e. My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Our Family Wedding, etc). It is definitely still a relevant topic, and attitudes toward intercultural marriage are still very archaic in some families (my own included). A movie like this (with heavy adaptation, of course) would still be relevant if released today.
