How racist would you say this movie is?
It looks like Japan is basically one giant orgy
share"If I like their race, then how can I be racist?"
Seriously, what the hell are you talking about?
I see topics about racism and sexism come up a LOT on these message boards. It surprises me. This is James Bond!!!!!!!!! If you are a sensitive "PC type," then these movies are not for you.
shareI know, man. Seriously. It's a movie about a guy who has "a license to kill", who sleeps with women all over the world. Hot Russian babes, hot Japanese babes, hot Chinese babes, hot American babes, hot Jamaican babes, hot African-American babes, hot Central and South American babes, and he is unapologetic when he kills a bad guy. Why? Because they deserved it!
If anyone's gonna get on their goddamn soapbox and cry racism, then ... damn, get the hell out of here and go watch Barney or Teletubbies or something, or whatever the hell young toddlers are watching these days.
Christ, where's the "Is Bond gay?" thread? I'm waiting for some scum bag to come up with that thread so I can tear him a new one.
Well, this one is pretty sexist, but it was the 60s after all.
shareTroll
shareCompared to your34217205 bigoted brain? Not racist at all.
shareIf 0 is not racist at all, I'd say like a 2. Or maybe a 0.
Stick your racist talk up your azz.
It's both awesomely racist AND sexist.
shareBefore people go off, a few things.
This was filmed in 1967. He was put in disguise by the Japanese Secret Service themselves. Because he's a spy and is supposed to blend in as much as possible.
Also if anyone has issues with it. Do you have issues with Richardo Montabahn playing a Sikh in Star Trek? Or him playing a Native Americian? Not long after the great Bruce Lee was playing Kato in the Green Hornet.
Or how about Breakfast at Tiffany's with Mickey Rooney playing a Japanese character in very poor taste?
As the saying goes "We've come a long way, baby."
In what way?
