Vintage "French Connection" mashup
In 1972 or '73, an episode of ABC-TV's "American Bandstand" (Dick Clark's show) featured what would today be called a YouTube-style movie/music mashup. They showed the chase scene from "The French Connection", but for the audio they used Commander Cody's hit cover version of 'Hot Rod Lincoln'. Worked pretty well, too. That clip is probably lost to history (or submerged in the swamp of copyright), but I'm sure someone could pretty easily re-create it for the Internetz age. Any takers?...
