Melonie Haller As "The Schoolgirl"

In the credits Melonie Haller is listed as "Schoolgirl". Anyone know what scene she was in? Thanks...

I believe Melonie Haller is the girl on the bicycle. Most of her scene was cut from the finished film, but even in the removed scene (which I believe is available on YouTube) it's hard to determine what her occupation is, as she's just a woman on a bicycle picked up by Popeye Doyle.

At first I thought so too wrfarley but bio info lists her birthdate as circa 1959 so it's doubtful that was her in the role of the cyclist Popeye picked up. The cyclist looked college age so I figured she was like a NYU student. So Haller undoubtedly was cast as a younger schoolgirl seen elsewhere in the film.

You're right, turtletommy. Besides, the bicycle girl was played by Maureen Mooney.

And here's the deleted scene with Ms. Mooney...the internet is amazing- I think this scene might be an extra on the DVD/Blu-ray too. Hackman riding a bike backwards he was pretty versatile...

Here's an amusing tie-in. I was watching one of those "Entertainment Tonight" on-the-set interviews with Gene Hackman back in the 1980's when he was shooting the film, MISSISSIPPI BURNING. They used a couple of B-roll shots that showed him clowning on the set with Willem Dafoe and other cast members. I particularly remember one of the "goofing around" shots of Hackman riding a bicycle backwards as he does in the outtake you linked to. I imagine it was a skill he picked up as a kid, but I think backwards bike riding was also done more famously by Paul Newman in BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID.
