Location Shoot / Similar Films

Loved this movie from the day I saw it. It has a unique atmosphere that I'm sure must, in no small way, be due to its haunting location shooting. Are there any other films with a similar feel? Particularly films shot on location like this.

The late 60's and early 70's had loads of movies like this that were shot on location. BULLITT, THE SEVEN UPS, SERPICO, THE LAUGHING POLICEMAN just to name a few.

Some other films from that era that showcase the grit of NYC:

The Seven Ups (with Roy Scheider and Bill Hickman)
Prince of the City
Report to the Commissioner
Shaft
Black Caesar
Serpico
The Taking of Pelham 123 (the original one, not the lame remake)

The Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry films kinda had a similar urban location feel but in S.F./Bay Area- like Bullitt.
