Tom Skerritt
Anybody know why he used an alias for this film? I'm sure there will be a lot of guesses, but I'm looking for more solid info, like maybe he's mentioned it in an interview or something.

shareI googled "Tom Skeritt m Bormann" and found a useful article in the Detroit Free Press. Apparently, Skeritt was a friend of Hal Ashby and gave him advice on filming Harold and Maude. For example, the article says that Skeritt gave Ashby the idea of casting Bud Cort as Harold.
The actor originally cast as the motorcycle cop broke his leg, so Skeritt took the role as a favor to the director. He used the pseudonym "M Borman" as a reference to Nazi fugitive Martin Bormann, who, according to Skerritt, could have moved to Oakland and become a motorcycle cop.
Interesting! Thanks for that bit of info, nocomputer1962! I thought that M Bormann should mean something, but didn't quite make the connection!
