I feel like I have finally seen the light!

I have come across this movie multiple times, and i'm not sure how it got drawn to me, but I ended up being very curious, and my curiosity wins today! I am so happy that I saw this move. I appreciate the unique love story and dark humor that this movie has to offer, and WOW!!! Bud Cort's character is just incredible, along with the chemistry both him and Ruth Gordon have while playing this movie. I now want to meet Bud Cort and just express my gratitude of how impressed I am with the film and how much of a character he truly was in the film. I love love love it!

Welcome to the club!

Let's never come here again because it would never be as much fun.

He means the club of Harold and Maude.

I'm in it too.

I think there's a lot of us.

And yes, welcome!

Look where no one else is looking and see what no one else sees.

I was in your shoes about 2 years ago when I discovered this amazing movie,
and I too love Bud and wish to meet him and thank him.

It is so nice to read that another "Harold and Maude" fan has come to light (no pun intended), and that you feel exactly as I did 3 years ago when I discovered this amazing movie, and the amazing Bud Cort.

"It's funny...God makes us mad if we work and go mad if we don't." -Bud Cort

Bud Cort FTW! He's BRILLIANT in this movie! So is Ruth Gordon! So is Hal Ashby's direction! And Cat Stevens's songs! And the script! And the cinematography! And...! And...! And...!

It's comments like this that make me keep watching this movie to try to understand what is so good about it; although I like the movie, I can never grasp the reasons people think it is so ultimately great.

For your sake I hope you never find out, for that would disqualify your membership in the club, and re-begin your life of life of tedium and boredom and ordinariness and god-knows-what-ness.

I just found out about this movie after watching Charlie Bartlett which uses the song 'If you want to sing out, sing out'. After watching Harold and Maude last night I feel like I haven't lived at all and I wanna so much be like her now! If there's a Harold and Maude club with like minded people, I'm definitely in!

So you'd simply want to be a hippie, stealing cars and planting trees, then.

reply

Damn right I do but I'm too old for the first two so I'll stick to planting tress.

This is my favorite movie, when I first saw it several years ago it had a profound effect on me and everytime I watch it I still experience the same effect.

Welcome to the club! I first saw it over thirty years ago and it made a huge impression on me. Like most people who love this movie, I can recite many scenes from memory. It's on the telly now and I'm watching it for the umpteenth time. I've always wondered if Tom Skerritt played the motorcycle cop-I finally looked it up and it is indeed, Mr. Skerritt.

Enjoy!

Cheers.
