If you can not accept this is one of the best, most under appreciated movies ever made, and really is a gem to behold, you should reevaluate your entire sense of self from day one.

I can understand the tone to be challenging to some, but it is so well done, that it should be loved no matter what.

Amazed at the lack of love on this page for this CLASSIC!

This is one of my favorite films, but I don't think it is "under appreciated".

It is ranked number 45 on the American Film Institute's list of 100 Funniest Movies of all Time (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI%27s_100_Years...100_Laughs).

It was also selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress in 1997 for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." (http://www.loc.gov/film/titles.html)

I don't think it's under-appreciated either. It gets an 8 on imdb which is a pretty high score, indicating that people do appreciate it. I guess you could say it isn't considered a masterpiece of modern cinema... ok. So you win.
