''Same old sixes and sevens''
At the beginning when Shaft goes up to the blind newspaper vendor, Shaft asks him how he's doing and the vendor replies "Same old sixes and sevens.". Does anyone know what that phrase means? Does it have something to do with the man being blind? Is it a N.Y. saying?
