I'm about to start some $%*@!!

I've been noticing on the beginning of the MGM-dvd collections a rush of clips from the MGM library of films. Not every movie but stuff like Rain Man, FARGO,Thelma & Louise and old film stars like Marilyn Monroe etc, etc. Back in the day(early seventies) MGM was struggling(as in about to go under)and lo and behold SHAFT came along and gave them the booster shot that was needed. What I'm saying here is that in that opening company promotional trailer I think it would be fair and just if they showed Richard bursting through that window from that scene in SHAFT.

I know that they won't but it was something I had to get off my chest.

MGM doesn't own "Shaft" anymore. Let me explain:

The clips at the beginning of MGM DVD's are from modern day MGM titles & vintage United Artists/Orion titles. All MGM films made prior to 1986 (including "Shaft," its sequels and the TV show) are now owned by Warner Bros by way of Turner Entertainment. Ted Turner bought MGM in 1985 and then sold the studio - but kept the rights to the MGM library - back to the person he bought it from a year later.
