I would like to see a heavy characterization film based on the Shaft character...
He is supposed to be the answer to James Bond, but even the Jason Bourne flicks want to rise up past the typical Bond films that have become repetitive...
They tried to update Shaft, back in 2000. Wasn't all that big of a hit.

The director--John Singleton--does a good job when he is given a good script, but even he is becoming somewhat of a hack nowdays...
