just watched again after many years....still enjoyed the movie and O'Neill's acting was ok..but for some reason i just didn't buy her as a women in the 40's..i don't know if i have been too programmed from watching 40's movies..her hair and built just didn't fit for me
shareI'm usually picky about these things, too. I bought her as a young woman in 1942, though. The clothes were fine, and I figured she just had natural, tied-back hair because she was living in a small community on an island and didn't feel like getting whatever perm was in style at the moment. If she and her husband had taken a trip to Boston or New York, she probably would have got an up-to-date do.
