Contract the kids sign

Is signed by CHILDREN under the age of 18 so not actually legal or binding right? Should have been the parent/guardian signing it.

reply

Well, Wonka was a bit different than most people, he was going to let a child run the factory.

reply

It really doesn't matter how old they were. It wasn't legally binding by it's mere existence. Wonka made what's called a unilateral offer to the world... 'Find a ticket, receive a factory tour and lifetime supply of chocolate'. Finding the ticket and presenting yourself at the gates at X time was acceptance of that offer at which point a contract was formed. Claiming that they can't enter insisting that they sign another is completely illegal!

Hey! You're not old enough to drink! Now go and die for your country!!!

reply

The contract was nothing more than a joke by Wonka to piss off the bad kids and their parents.

Not in a court of law. Learn to read; then read!

'Are you allergic to Oompa Loopas?' That clause has to be in there

I presume you meant 'singing'. Bit of an ironic slip there

To answer the OP....

Yes, pretty much. Children can't legally enter into a contract agreement on their own. Since only they signed, the contact is null and void.

But its a kids movie, so logic be damned.
