Rockford Files
Up untuil the other day, I thought this was an episode of the Rockford Files, since I saw this when I was a kid. Wish I could see this film with more mature eyes.

It deff gives off the vibe of Jim Rockford
I suspect this was a pilot film for a proposed series... James Garner was looking for a TV series but the concept for Rockford Files won out. I would have LOVED to have seen a series "Eden Place" with all these wonderful townspeople busybodies as regular supporting cast members. Sort of a cross between Mayberry RFD and Pickett Fences.
