'I don't like that surfin' *beep*

"Rock n roll's been goin' downhill ever since Buddy Holly died."

Another thing I like about Milner - he's a rock n roll purist.

During that scene, when Carol says "If I had a boyfriend he'd pound you!" - one of the best lines in the movie. Cracks me up every single time.

Yes, I watched this again last night and their scenes are never mentioned.

"I will not go down in history as the greatest mass-murderer since Adolf Hitler!" - Merkin Muffley

I am a huuuuuge Beach Boys fans but Milner was right. You don't hear any of it in the film (thanks to GL's and The Wolfman's good taste) but crap rock and roll was the order of the day in 62. As Jerry Lee Lewis put...

Nothing but "Bobbys". Bobby Vinton, Bobby V, Bobby Rydell, Bobby this and that... Well the Beatles showed them a trick or two. Cut them down like a scythe!!!!

The Beach Boys and The Four Seasons (both arguably more pop than R&R but at least they weren't pretending) were the only male bands that really survived that harvest.

Glasgow's FOREMOST authority Italics = irony. Infer the opposite please.
