Were the three creatures in the ashpit the handyman's three nephews ?

If Mr. Harris, the Handyman, was Uncle Charley O'Casey in the T.V. Series My Three Sons,

then it stands to reason that the three creatures from the Ashpit were the Handyman's nephews.
