I remember watching a horror movie on TV when I was a kid that reminds me of this one (maybe it even is this one?)

Kids are home alone in a big old house, and there's this giant scary tree in the yard that gets knocked over by the storm. Below it is a portal to hell or something. Many tiny demons start coming out and attacking the kids, and in the end they join up to form a giant demon. The demons are made using claymation or something, I remember them looking pretty good. There's something about a giant cherry bomb that they use to fight the demons.

Sounds familiar to anyone?
