Was Johnny Boy gay, and in love with Charlie?

What I was really gonna say was that I very much enjoyed this film. I liked the whole gritty style of the film. It really made me feel like I was there in the movie with all the characters.

I also really liked the acting of the two leads. Especially Robert De Niro's performance, back from when he was still an unknown.

Anyone else feel the same way I do?
