Johnny Boy - Greatest character in cinema?

I can honestly say Johnny Boy is one of the greatest characters I've ever come across in film. So charming, mischievous, deceitful and vulnerable all at the same time - what a creation. Obviously along with the writer, a large part of this has to do with the talents of Deniro who simply delivers a tour de force. Easily the best thing about this film. Kudos to writers and Deniro.

Johnny Boy is nowhere near close to being one of cinema's most beloved, popular, or iconic characters. But you know... I can honestly say that no other movie character I've seen has given me as much joy to watch on screen than Johnny Boy; witnessing De Niro's performance in Mean Streets is simply a fun thrill ride for me. And yes, Johnny Boy is a great overall character, so I completely agree with you.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

Yeah I don't recall any other movie where De Niro plays this kind of character. Loved him in this one.
