Henri 'Papillon' Charriere Controversy
It was a riveting book and an equally good movie, but there's allegations that this true story of prison survival by Henri "Papillon" Charriere isn't exactly true and that he stole the tale from other inmates. There's also no prison records of him ever being imprisoned on Devil's Island.
