That is a very stupid comment. Why is everything a competition. They are two very different people. You can't compare everything. I'm speechless. So many people does it on this board. I'm an actor myself, but still I know a lot of people who are more fit to one specific part and me to another. I love both of them and think they are great. they think each other are great. But they are different.

no, they were at the top of their games. to be fair, it was actually al pacino's fourth film, and he was just getting started for probably the greatest run of a nascent movie career since marlon brando.

I disagree. It's hard to believe but Hackman was the weakest link in the 2 Superman films. He was out of place and want very good in those films.

They are both excellent actors, as this film proves. It's unfortunate that Pacino has gotten a bit lazy over the years -- back in 1973 he still put his whole heart into his roles.
