That sour faced bullfrog of a sheriff and all it took was a pair of wire specs and an attitude.

I always felt Beatty was an underrated actor, and this is one of the films which proved it. You also might want to catch THE FOURTH PROTOCOL (1987), where Beatty plays a KGB general.

Ned always looked older in films, and he had the ability to completely transform his appearance. He's a terrific character actor and has many many very entertaining films, including this one.

Same. He looked so different,--from just the previous year's Deliverance! Top talent, he should have done better in films.

He was really good in this, very imposing. Complete opposite from Deliverance. Means he's a good actor.

Ned was slightly trimmer and had short hair.
