James should've Kept the Money

I don't care what nobody says but Florida would've just had to be mad at me or divorce me because I would've kept that money to help me and my family so we wouldn't have to struggle and get out of the ghetto

I'm assuming you're referring to Windfall. I always thought that James should have just put the money in the bank or just got a secret account and not say anything about it.The problem was that he let his emotions get the better of him...

reply

Yup. You worded it perfectly...."Let his emotions get the better of him". He knows his wife is the moral police, so he must have known that if he told Florida about the money....she would have been against it. But by him being so angry he let the cat out the bag. That damn Florida, I think she was oppressed and afraid of succeeding because the ghetto is all she's ever known.
I've seen the Jackson's biopic a million times, and when the Jackson family started acquiring a lot of wealth and moved from there one room shack to Beverly Hills; Katherine expressed a bit of a cultural shock. In the movie, she actually seemed happier before all the riches because like she mentioned " The family did not spend anytime together anymore."
And I think that was the case with Florida.

Mad Dog forced JJ in a gang, shot him, and got away with it. James should have slapped the other side of Mad Dog right after his mother smacked him!

Exactly

reply

Wrong! Keeping the money would have been stealing!

reply

Oh like how the banks steal from us with usury but that's ok right.

Spoiler alert for them spoil sports out there! Y'all like spoiled milk, stop crying over it!

reply

You have to look out for your own interests; it's a dog-eat-world. So, for me it's a two-way split. I'll give half the money back. BANG! next case.

reply

Wrong is wrong even if it helps you!

Amazing how many pro-stealing posts there are on here. Do an honest days work and don't try to take other people's profits. We wonder why kids become delinquents and wind up in juvenile court. It's because adults set no moral example for them.

reply

Florida Evans would've been so proud of you. You can teach your kids about morals and they'd still rob a bank. Not saying that it's right but people want that fast money.

reply

Oh, calm down, it's a sitcom. Put the binky back in your mouth.

James worked an honest job (or jobs), and still faced a dilemma. Nothing more, nothing less. Save the moral crap for someone else.

Better to be financially bankrupt than morally bankrupt.
