a brit weighs in
doing his best yank accent
'we love your monty python and eddie izzard'
Kidding aside, may of us brits love mp, but don't actually get why you Americans seem to be obsessed and in love with it. It seems a different style of humour. not that you're too stupid to get it, or can't appreciate it, just that traditionally our senses of humour ( as seen in sitcoms and the ilk) are so different, like the fact that you love benny hill and are you being served (or used to anyway). Personally I'm not that keen on some American huomour, not that I don't think its funny, it's dumb,or that I don't get it, I just don't care for it.
however I do love family guy, and the simpsons, and i'm mad on Frasier, which btw is genuinely intelligent and thoughtful. I know family guy is crass and dumb, but it's supposed to be, it's its sense of humour, not stupid writings that makes it so. Plus it has an o.t.t un-pc appeal that our country is far too cowardly and weak willed to risk attempting, even if it does stereotype us brits as buck teethed ridiculous accented homosexuals.
anyway that's my pennies worth
I think many on here think of python fans of arrogant, because the stereotype of us Brits is one of arrogance. Which may be true, but is kinda ironic considering the stereotype of americans by brits is also one of arrogance!
And before you jump down my throat as a yank hater, it's something you yourself's acknowledge and spoof, in things like the simpsons, when homer calls the U.S 'everyone's favourite country', or that fact that you call your army the 'world police'
