Graham Chapman

Never the strongest actor in Monty Python but in this movie he is the glue that holds it all together. Many of the great shows has a straight man to lead the show, Jerry Seinfeld, Ted Danson in Cheers, Mary Tyler Moore in her show, and Graham plays that role so wonderfully here.

Not only that, but wonderful chemistry of himself from King Arthur talking to God.

i think he is quite funny actually.

And a bit surprising, considering that he was reputedly drunk every day of filming.

Actually, there was no alcohol on the shooting site and they were too far away from any place to purchase alcohol, so he was not drunk at all. He was experiencing DTs from alcohol withdrawal. You can google this to find out.

Ironically, all the team claim Chapman was the only real actor of them all, hence why he was cast as Arthur in their next film.
