That was a major moment in the movie when the hoodlums shoot up the melons stored in the barn until they're mush. Majestyk looks at it later and clenches his fist angrily. That was a disturbing scene considering he and his staff worked hard to harvest them.
The more I study it, the greater the puzzle becomes.

shareThe timing was off between the machine guns firing blanks and the squibs exploding the melons. Bullets would have been hitting those melons at a much more rapid rate. But a very poignant scene considering the work the harvesters had done. And what a waste of melons just to shoot a scene in a movie. They should have used cgi.... oh wait, they should have INVENTED cgi and then used it ;-)
