Any more movies like the original TCM?

I can't seem to find a movie that matches the same atmosphere that the original TCM delivers. Gives me the creeps, man... And the fact that it looks so freaking realistic... I don't know why, but this movie left a lasting impression on me. Probably because I was expecting something cheesy, while it actually scared me *beep*

Any more movies in the same style? No "The Hills Have Eyes" / newer TCMs, please.

If you want to see a creepy movie I recommend Deathdream directed by Bob Clark. It is not exactly like TCM but it does have a similar haunting quality.

I'll give you props for that, that definitely looks TCM-like. But no dialogue? That's kind of disappointing...

You said no Hills Have Eyes but incidentally I wrote Bob Burns a fan letter years ago about his work and he actually wrote back and said Hills actually scared him more than Chain Saw did (he worked on both). I wrote him after I saw The Howling and noticed gramma behind the door. He said I had good eyes. That was cool.
Maybe Motel Hell but it is more campy. But the theme is similar. Or check out Slaughterhouse. Great ending.

High Tension was the only film to remind me of TCM.

I saw this film and while it wasn't that bad, I didn't see anything that reminds me of TCM. :/

It's not really the same, but check out The Hitcher with Rutger Hauer - it has the same atmosphere I think.

The Funhouse - slasher film that is gritty and has some really depressing themes/subtext.

Theres a movie that's sort of a TCM ripoff. It's called PIECES. Not as good but nothing can beat TCM

Not quite the same but good 70's horror genre would be:

Last House on the Left
Black Christmas
Death Weekend (House by the Lake)
I spit on your Grave

check out 'Poor Pretty Eddie'
