When a contestant solves with no money on the board...

are they supposed to get $1000.00 dollars if it's a prize puzzle? Last night's game the contestant did that and got a trip to Aruba. I could swear I have seen contestants get the $1000 as well as a trip. It mattered because the young man was only about $200 under the amount the contestant next to him had so he didn't go to the bonus round.

If they win the prize puzzle without any cash won, they get the trip but no cash.

The minimum amount that can be won in a round is $1,000 in cash or prizes. Since the value of the trip is well over that limit, they don't get the extra $1,000 in cash added on.
