How do you pronounce its original Italian title - Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma?

How do you especially say "120" in Italian and how is "giornate" pronounced, thanks.

reply

120 is centoventi and is approximately pronounced chentohvehnty and giornate is approximately pronounced jornahteh.

Cheers thanks.

Happy to help.

Italian is so difficult to read and pronounce. You know, an a is an a and an i is an i. Impossible to decrypt.

reply

Not at all. Wovels and consonants are always pronounced (h being the only exception being basically mute or just needed to harden c and g before an i or an e) and always in the same way (barred a few exceptions strictly ruled). Furthermore they are both pronounced as they are written (see exceptions above). Italian language, for instance, never had a need for spelling.

The very difficult part are the different tenses, some of which even mothertongue Italians have difficulties with.

I was being sarcastic to centoventi or giornate. How the fuck could you read it? Giaiowrneitey? What a dipshit.
