Who Wrote the Poetry?

I watched this movie yesterday after thinking about it after so many years. I can’t recall if I’d actually seen the entire movie. I recalled bits and pieces of it, but not all of the details.

I guess we really don’t know if Rynn was telling the truth about how she came to the house in Maine. Did her father really take his own life, as she shared? Or did something more sinister happen?

I thought I recalled that Rynn was the actual author of the poetry book. Am I making that up? I don’t recall that from last night’s viewing, but why am I thinking that she was? Sm I not remembering something?

It certainly seems like a possibility given what we know about Rynn.
