Kid: "We got to go to the dentist."
Fish: (stares)
Kid:"Their gonna scrape the gunk...off our teeth.."
Fish:"Get AWAY FROM ME"

This was actually on Barney Miller right before "Fish" started.

If it was on Barney Miller then it would have been said by Victor (John Cassissi). He and Jilly (Denise Miller) were on Barney Miller as their characters from Fish. Todd Bridges was also on Barney Miller as a different character if I remember correctly.

Yeah that would have been Victor from the Children's center. In the 3rd season of BM Bernice and Phillip Fish started being like foster parents to him and a girl named Jillie. In the same episode Pil was writing a check to Bernice to pay for the dental visit and said "No more until the state gives us more money!" This was setting up the spin off show Fish.

That was the BARNEY MILLER episode "Group Home," broadcast after FISH's 5th episode. Jilly did 3 BARNEYs, Victor just two.
