That cat's birthday party truly looked fantastic!
Great movie, underrated imo. Although the ending could have used some work, the overall tone was super!
That scene where she walks in on her dad's naked cake party was awesome! Scarring! The pulsating blood from her wrists, epic!
Also when she is running from her ghoul dad and knocks over the end table with all the razorblades! Awesome!

I love this film. However I was confused with the line "Black and white cat, black and white cake." I thought your post related to that..
"When you're slapped you'll take it and like it."
I thought that line was just a wilfully confusing/mysterious line, meant to sound sinister but not actually meaning anything. Just my opinion in the context of a pretty hokey movie.
Every time I see a black and white cat or a black and white cake, that line is going to play in my mind.
"Come, fly the teeth of the wind. Share my wings."
It's been a while since i saw the movie, and I don't know if the line has any deeper meaning... but my brother and I say it all the time.

I just finished watching this movie for the first time. I loved it. It was creepy and this movie probably has Burgess Meredith's best acting, that I've seen. I rate it 10/10.

I could be wrong but I thought that one of the methods the satanic forces used to break Alison down with was getting her to remember all of the things her dad did to her, such as humiliating her in front of those whores when she came home from school. This would upset her so much and bring back the trauma and relapse that she would kill herself.
