La salaire de la peur.
It was much better. The movie was projected on to a white sheet on a wall inside a small cafe.
The house was packed.

Cool. I heard it was edited differently for non-US markets.

I liked the symbolism at the end when the two guys are fighting in the oil slick and become indistinguishable, which also reminded me of the scene in Kurosawa's Stray Dog (1949) which had a similar scene where Toshiro Mifune and the baddie wrestle in a pile of mud.
