The title makes perfect sense if...
Were they doomed from the start? It doesn't matter because if you watch this film and view it as a documentary, it's almost like a reality show of survival; the chosen ones, the preparations up to the journey, the journey itself and it's fate. If this was a real life doc, it would be natural and normal to call the film "Sorcerer", named after the second truck which, sadly, doesn't make it through this nightmare. It's a memorial tribute, in title, to the truck that was destroyed along with it's operators. It's fate may have been decided at the turn.
